Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions
1. I have my plug plants ,what do I do ?

Once you've opened your parcel of plants carefully remove them from the blister pack and place them on a table or potting bench .

Depending on how many plants you have fill some new or clean 9 cm potts with fresh compost and using a dibber or your finger make a whole about the same size as the plug plant and place the plug in it .

Gently firm compost round the plug ,when all are potted water them in with a watering can with a fine rose on it till the water has soaked in .

Remember the sun might be out but it may still be cold enough for frosts at night so keep your plants warm .

Once the threat of frosts have passed you can then repot your plants into the hanging basket or container you have .

2. I have my bedding plug plants ,what do I do ?

Once you receive your bedding plug plants check they are still moist and not wilting as they are very young still .

Fill a bedding tray or some potts with fresh multi purpose compost and prick the little plugs out by pushing from under the plug tray ,try to avoid pulling on the plants as this can sometimes result in tearing the leaves or worse pulling it completely off the roots.

Give the plugs enough room to grow when pricking them back into their new tray ,water them in with a watering can with a fine rose on it .

Either place them in a light place inside or in a greenhouse ,remember its probably still cold enough at night for frosts so take care of them .

When the risk of frosts have gone you can then replant your plants in their desired location in the garden or patio containers .
